Junior Infants, Senior Infants, and First class children took part in a Lego Workshop. The young engineers had a task of building skyscrapers. The children had to work in groups and had to design and build a skyscraper that would survive the earthquake test. Everyone had great fun planning, building and testing their skyscrapers. They all did a great job! Thanks to Ms. Higgins for visiting us with the workshop.
Welcome to our 2018/2019 STEM page. As a result of all our hard work, we received an award from Science Foundation Ireland last year. This year we hope to do the same. Please look at this years work so far!
We are also taking part in a School Excellence Fund project to develop scientific thinking within our school community. We have had workshops with parents explaining the stages of a STEM investigation and we are also working with 3 local primary schools and 1 local secondary school to develop a scientific community between the schools. Our project is called ‘Surprise of Science’.

Junior Infants built a variety of buildings using clay with a variety of other materials to create their own town.
Deirdre from Creativity in the Classroom guided us and we loved the activities.
