News - 3rd class; Ms Turner

21st May 2025

Our 3rd Class students had a wonderful time on their recent trip to Collins Barracks, part of the National Museum of Ireland – Decorative Arts & History.

The children explored a wide range of fascinating exhibits, learning about Ireland’s military and social history in an engaging and interactive way. One of the highlights of the day was getting to try on replica army uniforms, which gave the students a hands-on feel for life as a soldier in the past. There was plenty of excitement and laughter as they stepped into the shoes of history!

A Great Start to 2025 in Our Class!

We’ve had an amazing start to the new year in Ms. Turner’s 3rd Class! Here are some of the highlights of what we’ve been doing so far:

Learning to Embroider: We had so much fun learning how to embroider with hessian and wool. It was tricky at first, but we all got the hang of it and created some really cool designs.

Mini Water Cycles: In SESE, we made mini water cycles in a bag. It was so interesting to see how water evaporates, condenses, and falls as precipitation—all inside a plastic bag on our classroom windows!

Our Trip to Richmond Barracks: We went on a trip with Mr. Gallagher’s class to Richmond Barracks. The exhibition we saw was called “The Archive Within Us”. It was all about history, stories, and how archives help us remember the past. We learned so much and asked loads of questions!

We’re excited to see what the rest of 2025 will bring and can’t wait to share more of our adventures with you soon!
