We have had a very busy first term in 2nd class. We got to take part in Creativity in the Classroom! Using clay the class designed all different animals and created a zoo enclosure. They also used different drawing tools to create fabulous pictures. As part of Creativity in the Classroom we also got invited over to Goldenbridge Cemetery for an art exhibition, and we had great fun!
For Science week we engaged in different experiments. The first one was to create a bridge that wouldn't collapse holding a copy book and the second one was making a parachute for an egg. The excitement in the classroom while participating in these experiments was electric!

We have Been very fortunate to be one of 7 schools to receive ‘Free to be me’ Little Library of approximately 100 books.

Children’s Books Ireland aim to build a love of reading. The ‘Free to be me’ project enables our students see themselves reflected in a book, as well as learning about the lives of others, who’s experiences and perspectives might be different from their own. Here is just a sample of the books. The little library is on display on corridor 3. Each child in our school will also receive a book of their own to take home before Christmas.

The 6th class has kicked off the new year in the most amazing way! They've already enjoyed two exciting trips. First, they visited a writing workshop where they each created a fantastic story! Then, they took an incredible trip to Kilmainham Gaol. The students had the chance to dive into the fascinating history of the jail, learned all about it in class, and uncovered so many interesting stories about this remarkable place.

Dia daoibh a chairde,

We have had another great month and are making great strides at being ag caint as Gaeilge. Since we didn't have assembly this week I will put the pictures of our Gaeilgeoirí na míosa and also some videos of comhrá agus rannta.

We've had a very busy few weeks in senior infants. Last week we visited the library in Richmond Barracks where we got to pick some books. Each child also received a lovely pack from the library.
We have also been very busy this week as it's maths week and we are learning all about 3D shapes. We made some shapes using toothpicks and marshmallows.
Finally, after working very hard all week, our Clever Clogs table won table of the week and were delighted with their certificates.
